MUSA Landscape Architecture was approached by an active couple with young children to design a rear garden space that would meet their needs. The brief was for a cottage style garden with a contemporary twist.
The brief called for a large lawn area and soft cottage garden style plantings. It was suggested that the lawn be edged with a low hedge that would rise and fall in a flowing manner to provide an attractive contemporary formality to the space that would contrast with the less formal plantings. Once established the hedge would also stop balls and other play items damaging the delicate cottage style plantings behind.
A full set out plan and Planting Plan was provided for the client who constructed and planted the space.
